Brave group (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Keito Noguchi; hereinafter ‘Brave group’) announces that it has entered into an investment and capital and business alliance agreement with xxxxnese Corporation (Head office: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Directors: Shengri Yan and Tomotake Higuchi; hereinafter ‘xxxxnese’) in September 2024, with a view to a stronger partnership and business collaboration.

Background

The Brave group’s mission is to ‘Uncover the hearts of 8 billion people’, with the goal of ‘Bringing the Japanese spirit of adventure to the world’, Brave group is developing multiple businesses domestically and internationally, including IP Production, which operating the VTuber business, IP Platform, IP Solution and Incubation.
From March 2023 to the present, in addition to the establishment of overseas subsidiaries in four countries (the US, the UK, Thailand and China), we have integrated with a total of five companies in Japan and overseas to promote the overseas development of our business.
The mission of xxxxnese is to ‘Create a world without borders where people, goods and culture can freely exchange’, they are developing their business with the aim of creating a place where companies and consumers in Japan, China and other East Asian countries can freely conduct sales and consumption activities without awareness of national borders, based on common information, fair prices and services.

The two companies have a history of cooperation, including the opening of the Brave Stores Pop-up (*) at Shanghai Bailian ZX in July 2024, where they were able to establish an efficient retail plan in a short period of time and deliver Brave group’s official Japanese merchandise and officially licensed products to a large number of fans. Whilst making maximum use of the knowledge and network of xxxxnese, which is well versed in Chinese business, Brave group will achieve stronger and smoother operations and will be able to better deliver Japanese IP products to the world.

The synergy between the two companies’ missions ‘Reaching 8 billion hearts and minds’ and ‘Towards a world without borders, where people, goods and cultures can freely interact’ is something that excites me very much!
In the fast-growing Chinese animation and manga goods market, Japan will continue to be a key player, and there is much room for further growth.
At the same time, however, it is a fact that business is not proceeding smoothly between Japanese copyright holders and Chinese manufacturers and sellers, due to differences in feelings towards the works and business practices, resulting in significant opportunity losses.

Strong synergies are expected from the combination of Brave group’s network and creative capabilities in Japan and xxxxnese’s ability to build and promote marketing, manufacturing and sales in China. We will start by opening shops on cross-border and local e-commerce sites, and then accelerate the building of networks with manufacturers in China and the development of brick-and-mortar retail shops.

Through this initiative by a group of ‘like-minded Brave friends’, the aim is to build the largest business platform while respecting the world view of the original work to the maximum extent possible.
